I refuse to buy things that require a rebate for this very reason

"Instant rebate" is OK, but any MIRs I just ignore these days.

tru tru .. I should've clarified that .. If it isn't taken off at the register, I'm not interested :)

(not even that deal that staples has where you go to their website and plug in I'll do)

I wasn't aware of the Staples thing, and I buy stuff there once in a while so I probably should!

Hrm .. I haven't bought anything recently from Staples that requires a rebate (see above .heh) but they have a deal now where they print a rebate code on the reciept and when you get home, you go to their website somewhere (trying to find it now) input the code and they cut the cheque ... supposedly works quite well

found it: http://staples.rebatestatus.ca/main.aspx

I guess I've never bought anything that needed me to go there ... or if I did, I didn't apply for the rebate.

All this talk of shopping reminds me - I want to pick up a 2nd 2Gb CF card for my XTi. CanadaComputers had a good price last week but now it's sale time :)
26th-Dec-2007 04:26 pm (UTC)

I'm up to 4 x 2gb cards for my Nikon ... don't need any more :)
26th-Dec-2007 05:07 pm (UTC)
I've only got the one - I reckon a spare is always good but I can't see me taking more than 800 without having a chance to download them.

Best price I've found so far is at Canada Computers - $46.50 for the SanDisk Extreme III 2GB.

that seems to be about the going price for 2GB Exreme III's (that's what I have)

but I only get about 200 per card because I'm shooting RAW + JPG :)

I'm not using RAW yet - I'm still getting to grips with all the features, and then I'll worry about. There's not a Photoshop version for Linux though :)

I'm not really either. All of the pics I post are the JPG from the camera (only resized) but I'm taking the RAW's just to have around should I decide to do some post-processing later

Good idea - I s'pose one day I might get round to it.
