More scotchy goodness

scotch
Another scotch-filled night last night - Andy, PaulG and I went to the Spirit of Toronto at Roy Thomson Hall.

Fortunately I found a list of the distilleries/products represented, which helps trigger my memory. :)

We started off at The Macallan stall and worked through the 10 year old, 15yo, 18yo and cask strength. I'm not sure of the exact order, because we visited some people more than once, but here's a list of (some of) what we tasted:
  • Isle of Jura Superstition
  • Isle of Jura 10 Year Old
  • Johnnie Walker Blue Label
  • Oban 14 Year Old
  • Talisker 10 Year Old
  • Yamazaki 12 Year Old
  • Yamazaki 18 Year Old
  • Yoichi 10 Year Old
We also enjoyed the food (by Daniel et Daniel, same as previous years) and chocolate paired with a variety of scotch (by A Taste For Chocolate).

A good time was had by, as always. I tried to take some photos but they didn't come out all that well - you can find some on my Flickr account.

Macallan 19yo is sold as the Kirkland Brand house label scotch for Costco.

Only 20 quid a bottle ;)

Really? The 18yo is $280 at the LCBO, and even the 12yo is $85!

Hang on - since when could you buy alcohol at Costco? Or anywhere other than the LCBO or Beer Store?
