when you say your internetz no longer work, is the modem going offline? or is it still online and just no data going back/forth?

The modem's Online light goes off, then it looks like it resets itself (although Robbers tell me that's not the case) and I see it step through each of the lights and eventually reconnect. Usually the reset/reconnect takes about 30-40 seconds, but yesterday afternoon it took ~15mins once and then over 45mins (after which time I went out so I don't know if it took 46mins or 4hrs).

I've removed the router conxn (so it's just cable and power going in to the modem) and see it happen, so it's not my infrastructure! The modem has been replaced twice, so I don't believe that's the cause. That just leaves Rogers' cabling from the modem upstream.
