  • 09:51 is expecting yet another Rogers engineer to arrive any minute... #
  • 10:11 is back online - Rogers engineer said it's the splitter (which Rogers installed > 1yr ago) so we'll see if that helps. Hmmmm #
  • 11:18 doesn't understand why Facebook keeps eating my comments - I can't reply to comments in my own FB page! Technology hates me this week :p #
  • 14:17 is not keeping up today #
  • 14:20 would find it funny if it weren't so painful: "US debt clock runs out of digits" - news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/business/7660409.stm #
  • 14:32 Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaargh! Modem lost the conxn again. Rogers: are you ever going to fix this? :( #
  • 15:19 just added an RSS feed via toluu 'FAIL Blog: Pictures and Videos of Owned, Pwnd and Fail Moments' www.toluu.com/feeds/302641288/ #
  • 15:22 @somecanuckchick Yep, it's stunning how incompetent Rogers are; 2 modems and 3 visits later, it's just as bad. Time to move to another ISP? #
  • 16:58 has been w/out internet access since 4:35 - still off :( #
  • 00:05 is back from a Chilean wine tasting + dinner at the Granite Club. Wine excellent; food good; location pretentious. #
  • 01:10 @f1uncensored Re: costs too high - agreed; what we need are tyres with green stripes! :) #
  • 01:26 is finally caught up on Thursday ... well, except for some emails ... and a few tweets/blogs to reply to ... yeah, almost caught up :) #

when you say your internetz no longer work, is the modem going offline? or is it still online and just no data going back/forth?

The modem's Online light goes off, then it looks like it resets itself (although Robbers tell me that's not the case) and I see it step through each of the lights and eventually reconnect. Usually the reset/reconnect takes about 30-40 seconds, but yesterday afternoon it took ~15mins once and then over 45mins (after which time I went out so I don't know if it took 46mins or 4hrs).

I've removed the router conxn (so it's just cable and power going in to the modem) and see it happen, so it's not my infrastructure! The modem has been replaced twice, so I don't believe that's the cause. That just leaves Rogers' cabling from the modem upstream.
