Valleywag reports "LiveJournal, the San Francisco-based arm of Sup, a Russian Internet startup, has cut about 20 of 28 employees — and offered them no severance, we're told."

heh .. just like every other russian joint venture ... the originals get "bumped" out and replaced by russians (just look at any of the mining or oil companies over there ;)

(and now LJ grinds to a halt as everyone runs ljbook/ljarchive)

*edit: or that just may be the intarwebz melting down in preparation for the apple keynote in 10min ...

It's not just the Russians who bump the old staff - happened to me when an American company bought the UK company I worked for.
